Only posting this a few days late must be a personal record of mine.  I am finally getting caught up on all my blogging *wiping my brow* it was a lot heftier of a task than I had anticipated! I'm just relieved i'm done (I may or may not have skipped out on 7 blog posts I had originally planned on posting.. shhh)

The 4th was more than I could have asked for.  I didn't really know what to expect since Derick works all day, every day--no exceptions, so I honestly was planning on just sitting around at the pool all day with my friends Blair and Camille.  And then maybe if I was lucky Derick would be home in time for us to catch a fireworks show.  Luck was on my side though, because Josh, Derick's boss, decided to give the whole sales team the day off! Wait, what? Suddenly the days potential grew mountains high!

We slept in, and then enjoyed some nice cross fit as a group.  I thought I was out of shape.. but now I know I'm out of shape.  I had a lot of fun running around the lake with all of my friends, stopping every now and then to do muscle training. In shape or not, it was a good time.

I made Derick the most festive pancakes I have ever seen.  They must have been good because he gobbled them all up, every last blueberry and strawberry.

As a whole team we went and spent majority of the day at Lake Calhoon.  It was a nice lake with a big beach area right in Uptown MN, which happens to be our favorite town to hang out in.  The water was perfect temperature and it was sunny enough for me to get a tan.

After changing we all went to dinner at Chino Latino-- not a very patriotic place to eat I realize. haha. But it was so good! and such a cool trendy place. I would love to go back sometime.

After dinner we all went back to Lake Calhoon to watch some fireworks.. the firework show was mediocre but I loved the atmosphere of all the people around watching the fireworks about the sailboats.  Despite the mosquito bites that came with, it was a good night.

We went home and then watched Safe Haven.  I ended the day being very very Proud to be an American.
